Viva Las Vegas! - Day 1 - 9/30
We've just completed Day 1 of the Steele Ladies trip to Vegas. I'm merely along for the free airfare, constant amusement, and some serious self reflection about the wonders of DNA.
So far, Grandma is the big winner! She's won about 5700 coins, screamed SCOOBY DOO! a trillion times, kept asking for another whiskey sour (in a tone and decibel level that only Grandma is capable of producing with the spoken word), and announced to the casino that she was wetting her pants. LOUDLY. Yes folks, we draw a crowd.
Here they are after Grandma's pants dried:
Around cocktail hour, we ventured from the hotel. Destination? Bellagio. Along the way there, Debbie cries out - "Look, it's Jimmy Buffet's place." They are all excited now. Jimmy Buffet! Singing ensues Being an official Parrot Head, I'm looking all around. I know that we aren't that close to the Buffet bar. Heck, it's right across from the Bellagio. I ask "Where?" I look at the end of Brenda's finger...here is the *new* Jimmy Buffet paradise:
Look closely. You'll see that it's the CHINA STAR BUFFET. Please laugh with me. It was quite a disappointment for all. By the way, no one appreciated my chinese accented version of Margaritaville. "Wrasted arway ahgen..."Onward to the Bellagio - Debbie, Brenda, and Grandma were first-timers. Grandma walked all the way there - faster than Brenda and Cathy! Once there, we marveled at the gorgeous entry way with the blown glass artwork on the ceiling. See, it's very pretty:

Next, we watched the Bellagio Fountains sway, spurt, and shoot towards the sky to All That Jazz with the lovely Eiffel Tower glowing in the background. Grandma really loved this.

The ladies partook of libations as well. We ate dinner at a restaurant in our hotel, The Diablo. After acting like little devils and ordering a pitcher of margaritas, Grandma almost couldn't walk home last night. Needless to say, she weaved back and forth to her room with the help of her daughters. Here is Brenda helping Grandma after she stumbled into a pole:
I'll be back with more updates as Day 2 begins - unless they find out I'm writing about them. Talleho!
