Beaches along The Corridor

We went driving along The Corridor today to find some of the exclusive beaches along the Sea of Cortez.

Palmilla Beach – KM 26
Located in front of The One and Only Palmilla Resort, there is one of the few swimming beaches in Cabo. This beach also is a launch pad for panga boats taking fishermen out to their vessels. We didn’t stay as we’ve visited this beach before while fishing.

Chileno Beach – Access available from KM 14 via River Bed
This is a great place for snorkeling and scuba diving. Conditions are excellent for swimming, and the marine life is very unique.

Tequilia Cove
In front of the Hilton Los Cabos, this beach is beautiful. It stretches for miles and miles making it easy to get lost in your walk. The great thing about this beach is that there were no vendors harassing you. We had a great time. This is a great beach for sun bathing. Best sand we saw all day.

Santa Maria – KM 11.5
The entrance to this beach is tricky. You will need to take the entrance to the east of the Twin Dolphins. It appears that the beach if “off limits.” It’s not, but do proceed with caution.

Beware of the roads. Pull off and walk the road to test for solid ground. Recent storms have eroded the roads. We saw a 4 wheel drive truck stuck in the sand and several travelers turned around and were not willing to forge ahead with the roads so unstable.

This is a beautiful beach. Here you will find the finest cove and best snorkeling in the Baja. There are coral reefs and beautifully colored fish. The beach is littered with coral that has washed ashore. Many, many different types of birds sing and live in this area. It’s so great to watch them scoop up fish from the ocean.

If you have the guts to endure the walk/drive to this beach, you won’t be sorry.
